Instrumental Caroling Series, Volume 2
The Instrumental Caroling Series is designed for instrumentalists to use in a variety of situations during the Christmas season.
There are two volumes available of 12 songs each, plus a bonus number called “The Seven Days of Christmas.” The series is scored in a four-part (SATB) format, plus an optional 5th part that fills in a middle voice.
Optional keyboard (including chord symbols for guitar) and percussion parts are included. The melody is also included in most parts. The arrangements generally follow the traditional harmonies of the songs, although occasionally there are some variations.
Also, for many of the songs, an extended ending is included. Possible performance combinations could include: Brass quartet, quintet or sextet; String quartet; Woodwind quintet; Saxophone quartet; Instrumental solo, duet, or trio with keyboard; Mixed ensembles of various types. Singers may also sing along with the arrangements in "caroling" fashion or with a larger congregation.
